Avast anti theft and security - how does it work?

Hi,

Have just downloaded Avast Mobile Security on my Samsung Galaxy SII and also the Avast anti-theft, but haven't a clue what it does/how to work it.

Please can anyone point me in the direction of a basic guide?

I had to enter a friend's number but not sure why?

Also if your phone is lost or stolen, how does the anti-theft device help to disable it or locate it?
