more than three cesarean sections?

I've had three cesarean sections and was advised not to have any more kids. I was just wondering if any one out there has had more than three, and what was their doctors attitude toward it.
thanks

I've had three, but wasn't told to stop breeding! I did ask the obstetrician about it, and he said there was no reason why not, providing all healed well. He did however say that excessive blood-loss is not uncommon for 3rd and subsequent CS, so its even more important to have the matched donor blood on hand.
We didn't have any more children because of the energy needed to raise them, not because of too many caesarians.0 -
it's not just about how many you've had but also how close together they are. There are more risks after mulitple sections especially if they've been close together. That's not to say that you couldn't have another child just that it's possible that you could have increased risks if you do. If you want more children then speak to several doctors and listen to what they say and the reasons they give you and then decide.0

My sister in law has had 4 cesarean sections in 6 years. The last one took a long while to recover and was the most difficult because of all the scar tissue inside from the previous cesareans.Pad, started 28.11.08 running total £3674.91:T

Ive had 3 and was advised not to have anymore kids. We didnt, my 3rd was hard the scar tissue was terrible to get through, I was awake during my last two C/secs the pain was so bad during the 3rd with all the effort it took to get through the tissue. There was no way I could have gone through it again0

my friend had a 4th, against advice and was told her skin was thin in places and scarred in others. Strongly advised to have her tubes lopped while they were "working down there".I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I am due to have my 3rd section later this year, was advised about more scar tissue etc as mentioned above. I was next to a lady last time though who was on her 4th section-which does increase risk of haemorrage.
Personally i am going for the 3rd and final section and tubes tied all in one option!!!!!!!!!Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -

I know someone was on here a while ago wanting a section and sterilising at the same time and it was refused
It is not the section and sterilisation that is the issue, maybe more how many children already they have etc i.e we would be reluctnat to do it after one.
I personally would not risk the increasing risk of scar rupture due to multiple sections (have seen too much IYKWIM - (MW))0 -
my third section certainly took much longer than the first two, and there was two surgeons and extra other people hanging about...but my recovery was really quick, I could have left hospital that night, no problems a wee bit of pain but nothing huge. My tummy is a mess mind you...serious scar tissue and I'm convinced I've got an incision hernia.....but I'm too scared to do anything about it. I just wondered if policy differs from region to region, or consultant to consultant.0
