Just thought I'd give people waiting on ESA news some positive news. After my ESA50 sent back in January, today I got a letter saying I have been moved from WRAG to support group after renewal.
One question, how do I find out when I will recieve another ESA50?

It's nice to hear good news about ESA rather then all the doom and gloom threads. I'm sure there's more positive stories but people rather post the bad stuff.

    Good for you!!

Did you send any evidence in?

This seems to be happening more and more at the moment - DWP/ATOS keep up the good work!!!

I agree. I hope they are finally listening.

Does the letter not state how long the award is for? I know mine did. It will possibly be for 3 years as this seems to be how long Support group awards last? But DWP could review anytime they want to, but with the current state of changes happening and how busy they are they may well not do that now.
Hopefully you will now get the actual rates payable letter shortly, which if you are on income related can passport you to Free NHS Treatment for teeth/Meds and significant help with glasses.
  • Thanks for replies, just thought I'd let people know that there is good news sometimes as when I sent away the ESA50, any information I read online wasnt positive. On my award letter, it does not state a renewal time but I might receive this next week. The only evidence I sent in were appointment letters & my prescriptions photocopies. I called Atos after a few weeks and they told me they were waiting to hear back from my Gp which must have given them enough to go on. So good luck everyone going through this at moment :)

is that how long it normally takes for people to get a reply from sending your ESA50 back.. 3 months?

    Good news JustFor30. Congratulations!! :)

Hubby had his ESA renewal last month and he was also moved to the Support Group without a medical. Letter doesn't state how long for though.
He didn't even have a ATOS medical. I don't think that it hurts when Jobcentre Plus can't actually find you a place with the work group, she couldn't find one that would take him on their books because even she siad he was unemployable due to his sickness record.

I appealed the decision to place me in WRAG last April. Got a phone call in January of this year from my WRAG advisor saying I'd been placed in the Support group. The following day the ATOS form landed on the doormat and now they're hounding me again.

Despite my GP writing to them requesting a home visit again, they're this time adamant that I go to them. The answer I was given on the phone, "We're here to serve the government"

Make a formal complaint to Atos forcing you to attend one of their processing centres when your own GP has advised against it.

Also contact your MP and tell them that Atos are forcing you to attened their processing centre despite your GP advising against it.

Indeed be the case so I will post my good story. I went for a medical in January, had a really lovely lady who was very understanding and at the end of February I got a letter saying I'd been placed in the WRAG, which is correct for me.
