Amazon Delivery Fiasco

I ordered items and paid extra for next day delivery. Amazon decided to send the parcel via HDNL/Yodel who do not provide a next day service out of their Aberdeen depot!! When I spoke to customer services they said that they could not choose which carrier would be used!!

They eventually offered a refund of £5.00, but I cancelled order as I needed the items delivered next day. I have e-mailed the boss of Amazon to complain, I wonder if they will have the decency to reply?0

Items were direct from Amazon. This problem needs sorting out, how can Amazon offer a next day delivery service and not have a system in place to ensure that the carrier they choose to use can actually deliver on time. If they had chosen a different carrier out of the many they use then this fiasco would never have happened. When you speak to customer services they just say they can't pick which carrier and blame the computer, but they are only reading from a script and not paid to think I guess. Also why was no notification of delivery date change sent to me and it seems underhand that they do not automatically refund extra delivery charge. Morale of the story is do not use Amazon as the quality of service is nowhere near as good as it used to be.0

I'm sick of complaiing to Amazon about Yodel/HDNL. You always get a standard reply saying "we take this very seriously". If they did, they would do something about it, wouldn't they? I think cost of delivery is their only interest and Yodel msut be the cheapest.
If you sign up for Prime, it seems like they send by DPD, who offer a great service, for the trial period and then they start using Yodel after the first month. It's a bit of a con. As for the returns service using Yodel, that is even worse than delivery.0 -

I'm slightly north of Aberdeen and have had several next day deliveries in the past few weeks. All have came with citylink and I can't fault them. Whenever Ive had anything sent through Yodel it's always at least 2 days late.0
