Hi all,
Just completed the purchase (FTB) of my house but will not be moving in immediately as it requires virtually a-z of decorative maintenance (including new kitchen and bathroom).
The previous owner left some furniture in the house (as they were going to throw it away but I said I have no money left to buy anything straightaway and would gladly have it and throw it when i can afford new furniture etc.- hence they agreed to leave it.)
My question is do I have to pay water rates (United Utilities) even if I don't intend to live there until its renovated?? (according to their website I have to pay because its furnished). I'm not happy at this!
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated before I contact them.
Thanks, Ash

Why not ask for a water meter then if no water used you will only pay standing charges rather than the charge for supply which you arent using - I assume you are single (sorry if I'm wrong ) so may well be cheaper in the long run tooI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0
