    Morning all,

Been awake a while, but been laying in bed reading my book, bliss. I bought some new flanelette sheets online BOGOF, and some pillow cases, they are a blue candy stripe, I have them in the wm atm, with some white vinegar instead of softner, this is meant to stop them 'bobbling' lets hope it works, I also bought us a new duvet set, cant wait to put it all on tomorrow :T

We are having a really good week on ebay, our things finish tomorrow, but doing really well so far, will try and get more bits on tomorrow.

DD is still in bed, will take her a cuppa after this, we are off to see my dad today, then go to 'book club' in the next village, its only a shed really where you can exchange books and leave a donation for the hospice, need to pop in the shop and get something for my mum too.

Tonights dinner will be a takeaway, there is a new noodle bar in the local town, OH and I had a lunch time 'taster' and they were delish, so goint to have some tonight, they will do everything on the menu with tofu for the veggies, so dd will be pleased.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning All.

Didn't get on yesterday, was really fed up. I went to the nail bar, got my nails removed in preperation for my op on Monday. After it was done (cost me £10) my mobile rang. "This is the hospital, the anesthestist has said he won't do your op your blood pressure is too high!" I said we'd asked for a spinal block, but he still refused. As my GP has been ntrying to reduce my BP for 18 months without success that was not helpful. I'm sure someone is trying to tell me that I shouldn't have this op, this is the third time it's been cancelled.:o
It will now cost me £35 to put my nails back on, so I have to wait a few weeks till I can justify the expense.

Doc changed my BP tablets on Monday, but had to go back yesterday as they gave me headaches and nosebleeds! I've never had a nosebleed in my life, so that wasn't good. He changed them again, and (touch wood) seems okay so far, and it had come down a bit this morning.

Anyway, rant over. Halight glad you slept all night:T I had a good one too.

Had a fry up for breakfast today just for the hell of it, don't know what to have for dinner, will look in the freezer next.

Going to Ashford tomorrow for some retail therapy!
    Have a good day.

    Morning all,

Dogs got me up an hour ago and its a bit late to go back to bed so ive pottered around the house a bit and i'm waiting for postie to come as i scheduled a redelivery for today. An item came for my daughter on Thursday but postie didnt ring the doorbell and the letterbox isnt really the best place to make yourself known as its got a soft closing action. He just left a card. Though i was in, i didnt hear a thing.

Shopping today. Must remember to take my shopping list this week as ive got a memory like a seive.

    Happy Saturday all!

    Morning all.

Beautiful sunny day here. I should think so too, yesterday we had visitors from the mainland and it was dark, rainy and a thick fog. We were going to take them out for lunch but it was so awful we ended up having a picnic on the living room floor - specially for the 3 year old who thought it was the best thing ever.
So the house is clean and tidyish - at least, the bits that show - and the Rev has an all-day conference so I am going to give myself the day off and am just off to have a furtle round the market. I'm being taken out to lunch by DS2 and DIL2B (and Mia) tomorrow, so apart from puddings for the drop in tomorrow I don't even have to cook.

Glad you are having better nights Halight, but just watch that wrist.

Have a good weekend everyone, and those of you who are mothers, hope you are spoiled rotten tomorrow.

    Good morning everyone.

We've already been out to run our errands, and it's very murky out there.

I've got washing and ironing to to do, and then it'll be eBaying. As of last night I had 11 items with bids on, and I'll probably get a couple more sold before the auctions end this afternoon. I'll get some listing done as well, but not too many, as I'm going out next Saturday, so won't have so much 'wrapping time' next weekend.

Lunch today is chicken curry, which I'm looking forward to.

    Enjoy your day

    Morning all,
It's DGD2's 4th birthday today, I didn't do any wrapping y/day as I was in so much pain with my neck I could bearly turn my head, i's a bit better today. I got up at 3am and heated my wheat bag which helped.
We're going to take pressies to DGD at 12.30 so looking forward to that.
Got some duck breasts out of the freezer for dinner to go with jackets & corn on the cob. BM & WM on and 18 fairy cakes in the oven for the party tomorrow.
The bread is for friends who fly back from Australia today, I'll take milk, eggs, butter, cheese a quiche and other stuff and put it in their fridge. We look after their place when they go away, they have been away for 2mths, don't envy them tackling the 2ft high pile of post !!
Off to check the cakes and start wrapping.
Hope all have a good w/end and Mums get spoilt tomorrow.

    Morning all,

JackieO what lovely news about the twins:j
NLJ glad your feeling better, my cold is slightly better I think, must have been the hot toddies:D

Bit of a late start for us and planning on staying in my pjs, I will get ready later when we are going for a meal with ds2 and his gf and dd. it's early evening so we shall have a walk around town and a couple of drinks afterwards.
The house needs a good clean and lots of recycling to do. Ds3 is not coming with us tonight as he has a meal out with some friends as its one of their birthdays. But he has promised to make spag Bol for lunch on Sunday so I don't have to cook.
It's very cold here and possible snow later so shall make sure we are wrapped up tonight, comfort over fashion wins every time these days. When I think of some of the skimpy outfits I used to go out in:o
Taking sinus tablets as such a lot of pain I think it's just above my teeth on the right. Have decided to cut right down on dairy as I believe it helps with sinuses. It makes it incredibly difficult to concentrate on anything.
Anyway enough moaning, have a good Saturday whatever your up to Julie x

    Morning all!
Had a nice evening out with one of my oldest friends, other one's OH phoned to say she is in bed with flu! Ate far too much at the Chinese buffet, and had a couple of drinks and a blether, everywhere was so quiet, according to the taxi driver that's normal now for a Friday!
Today, will need to nip to the shops for something for mothers, then do as little as possible, its flipping freezing so will be a reading day I think!
    Have a good day all!

.I also want to have a go at trying to use up the little chocolate figures that I have been given (70% dark chocolate) I may grate them up and I can't decide whether to make choc cookies or a chocolate cake.I find dark chocolate a bit to bitter for me but I really don't want to just bin them, any ideas chums.I don't even know anyone who likes dark chocolate My late OH did and was always given the dark ones when I had a box of chocolates.
If you can lay hands on thick cream, sugar, eggs and a sprig of rosemary, how about choccy mousse? ;)

GWS wishes and Hot Toddies (whisky OR brandy available, help yourselves) for all those with colds and flu-type symptoms.:o

Mr LW had to visit the fang farrier this morning, but all OK, his teeth are fine. Something a bit bizarre though - apparently, he still has a baby tooth, that he should have lost some 50 years ago! I never heard of this before, and it seems really weird, but he said it showed up on his x-ray. I guess it explains his total refusal to grow up.:D
