Landlord entering without permission

Just write back saying you do not agree to any viewings (you don't even have to justify why) and that you consider that to be an end to the matter, and any attempts at entry will be referred to the police. Also state that you will consider any contact other than in writing (by mail) to be harassment and will also be referred to the police. Then change the barrel of the lock and ignore the letting agents. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

You could suggest say 2 hours a week when you will be available for viewings, at time to suit you. They can make their minds up whether to use the slots but unless they advise that they are coming at least 24 hours ahead, you may or may not be in.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

I would further suggest that the timeslot offered be one evening - because you are at work at other times, etc.0 -
After their rudeness I'd now refuse any viewings whatsoever. IN WRITING!
OP: have you changed the barrel of the lock yet? If not get it done asap.0 -
I wouldn't bother to answer their letter and spend the next few weeks writing backwards and forwards. You have told them no more viewings so there is nothing further to talk about. You are entitled to quiet enjoyment. Change the lock and that's itLoretta0

I bet the LL has no idea the agents are acting like this, that is a large part of why so many get away with it.They are an EYESORES!!!!0

OP. I refer you back to Post #7, there really is nothing more to it.
I would write to the LA, CC'ing the landlord, that trying to justify entering your home without permission, and them incorrectly informing you that you had to allow viewings only reenforces your concerns that they are bullying you.
Confirm that no viewings without written permission.0 -
Hello,
AMAZINGLY, they turned up on Saturday without telling us again! I let them in after making them wait 10 minutes, and then tore a strip off the lady, who apologised and said it "isn't normal" for this to happen.
We are going to put our keys in the lock from the inside (and go out through the back door) so that they can't do this again.
I'm lost for words. When I threaten to withhold access to the house, they continue to say that I need to allow "reasonable" bookings. I reply that they also need to be reasonable, and ACTUALLY BOOK them.0 -
Just write to them ansd state that all further "bookings" are denied because they have proved incapable of making bookings. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
-
Can I legally do that though? I have to make the house available for "reasonable bookings". Although I know that as a tenant I have a right to "quiet enjoyment", that doesn't mean "refuse all bookings". I don't want to go down that line and find that in fact they have a case.0
