You'd best hang on to your shot gun given your recent comments on scratching cars.
As an aside, what would you recommend to clean small bitumen stains from plastic storage boxes? I think white spirit does the job, but I was hoping for something less unpleasant e.g. meths.
Now now, I simply suggested I "reversed" the mirrors of cars parked 1/2 on the pavement, no criminal damage advocated and certainly not scratching:o:o or
;);)
Anyway;
Over the years for a good quality general purpose solvent I've used Sikoflex PVCu solvent cleaner. A window installer put me onto it.
It's a trade strength product designed for cleaning stickers, pen marks etc plus general grime off plastic windows hence safe on most plastics.
Dam good stuff, has many uses and is £5 per litre bottle from our local plastic window anc suppliers, bought 1 only a few weeks ago to clean up the conservatory we built last year, but already used it on several other material, leave no residue on the glass either.
In short a great multi surface solvent at a very reasonable price, nice to keep one handy as I dare say in the context of this thread it would get paint off most surfaces and maybe even carpets although not tried it for that.
Check it out;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Thanks cyclonebri1, I'll get some of that stuff, my uPVC window frames also need a good clean.
Quite a few years ago a neighbour once parked in a private driveway reserved for residents of a house divided into flats, one of which I rented. So I parked behind them. Soon after an irate neighbour appeared. I was so busy it took me an hour to find time to move the car. They didn't park there again.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -

Totally illegal action, you really should be ashamed of yourself. If you did that to me I'd take you to court and..........................
Well that's the way the other thread went anyway, :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
That solvents good, but they also do a separate product for polishing up pvc that has aged a little, has some mild abrasive in it I believe, the same place I use stocks it so that may be a better bet for your application.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Moving a wing mirror is okay, if the car obstructs, and blocking a car that is obstructing is fine, but I would not damage a car. Anyway, sorry to get off thread.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
Paint ceilings first - solid emulsions are good to use with a roller on an extending pole.
Walls next - emulsion
woodwork last - use gloss, satin or eggshell . I personally like eggshell.
Wear rubber gloves, you then don't have to spend ages cleaning your hands. If you are using the roller/brushes the next day just wrap them up well in cling film, saves on the cleaning.0 -
I always do the woodwork first - whether papering or emulsioning. [STRIKE]Because I'm guaranteed to make a mess and I can wipe emulsion off gloss/satinwood[/STRIKE]0

Nothing wrong in that, do it that way myself sometimes, but even if you use decorators caulk to fill the cracks around doors etc, emulsion still helps fill minor imperfections and hide the joints giving a cleaner line when you gloss.
As they say whatever floats yer boatI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
