Can i use a multi fuel boiler stove to heat a standard hot water tank?

Hi. Just now my heating is on total heating total control with the hydro, which heats my hot water tank plus storage heaters.

I was wondering if it was possible to connect a multi fuel boiler stove situated in the living room, to my existing hot water tank, which runs off of the electric?

I dont want to run radiators. Just heat the water and add some warmth to the house at the same time.

You can but the problem there would be you would have scalding hot water, generally stoves dont do just hot water they'll either do heating or heating and hot water.
Reason being is that once the water has heated up the excess heat has nowhere to go, so you'll either have to add a heat sink radiator to dissipate some of the heat or link the stove into your existing system and tank with a bit of plumbing jiggerypokery it could probably be done with a couple of neutralisers or a H2 panel.

You will also need a plumber that knows solid fuel systems and knows what they are doing.
