I used the template as advised by moneyexpert regarding a package holiday flight I took in 2010. we were delayed 12hours effectively losing a days holiday.
I'received a reply saying they are only obliged to refer back 2 years so my flight doesn't count. How do i progress?

Five of us returned from Malaga to Gatwick last August and arrived Seven and a half hours late owing to the aircraft going Tech at Gatwick prior to flying out to pick us up from Malaga. I completed the Monarch claims form together with the MSE letter. Monarch replied:
Our records show that during the pre departure checks, the aircraft scheduled to operate your flight was found to have developed a technical problem with the left rudder, which rendered the aircraft unserviceable and unsafe to operate (they were unable to find a replacement aircraft) A delay to your aircraft was unavoidable. Consequently, your aircraft departed at the earliest opportunity once the aircraft was declared serviceable. Having considered the factual background of the case, we are satisfied that the disruption was caused by an extraordinary circumstance that could not have reasonably been prevented by Monarch Airlines. We are therefore, unable to accept your claim for the reasons give.
Just in case any else on our flight ZB743 AGP to LGW 02 August 2012 Scheduled to depart at 1810 hours, has the same problem.
I am now going to write to the CAA0 -
