    obviously,that letter has got lost in the system ,no savings,wife my carer,so she gets carer allowance,and we get IS

    Under that rule you would be entitled to income based ESA anyhoo. It's still better to know what group you are in though :)

    As she gets IS, you will not be allowed to claim ESA IR when (if) your ESA C runs out.

    You could stop the IS and carry on with ESA IR

    Be careful though because the IS could pay more than the ESA IR.
