  • Presumably they have placed you in the support group then? If you were getting more on IB than would be dur under ESA then you should get same rate as before until ESA rates catch up with old IB rates.

Also perhaps they are running out of time to give a medical to everyone, there's so many, they have access to tons of medical evidence to be able to make a decision especially for illnesses that last for life and can't improve.

Is it a WRAG or SG decision?

Do you understand the consequences of a WRAG decision?

If you want to know when you will be re-assessed (because EVERYONE on ESA is re-assessed periodically) then you have to phone up and ask.

If you have been placed in the WRAG (Work Related) then your Cont-based ESA will only be payable for a year.

It depends whether you are placed in Income based or Cont-based ESA. Income based ESA will continue after a year.

Colin, I filled in ESA forms as I was on IB and was told that I needed to fill in the forms to be transferred to ESA. I didn't have an interview but was sent a decision letter stating which group I had been placed in - you must have received this letter. It also tells you that if you do not agree with the decision that you have 4 weeks from date of the letter in which to appeal.

Yes, it will normally tell you in the letter, if it doesn't then call them up and ask which group that you have been placed in. It's quite important, especially under the one year rule

    Colin,
ESA WRAG C lasts for 1 year and then stops.
    ESA SG C is continuous

You should phone and ask which gropup you are in and ask how long the prognosis is? And while your on the phone ask them to send you a WCA decision letter.

After the 1 year of wrag you have to swap to ESA IR
Do you have a partner (what do they do) or savings more than 6K, 16K?
or other income from you or partner.
