Hi all,

I need to start using a PAYG phone again as my company are starting to charge us for any personal calls we now make. I work a weekend shift at Tesco and picked up a leaflet in the staff canteen regarding a special staff tarrif thte claims to be the cheapest in the UK.

Has anyone used this tariff and does anyone know if its any good? I cant seem to find any info on the site about this?

10p Per Minute to any number in the UK starting 01, 02 or 07
No minimum top required

It looks pretty good to me as I already have a old handset that I can use I just have to call and give my staff Number and I will be enrolled.

Just want to see if 10p a minute is the best rate at the moment? Im cr@p with phones and hardly use them so dont know what the standard rates are!

Its a very good x-net payg rate but if you used your phone a lot each day Asda,s (Anybody not just staff) might be better.

Calls from 8p that's 16p for the first 3 minutes each day then 8p.

Texts from 5p that's 10p for the first 3 texts each day then 5p.

Same cost to any UK mobile or standard fixed line phone,
    anytime .

Piggybacks on the Vodafone Network. No regular monthly purchase required.

It all depends on the amount of useage.

    Hi thanks for the reply.

I hardly use my phone for personal use and that is why is why I dont want a contract phone. I also sometimes forget to top up my phone for ages and then I get barred. Apprently I last used my t-mobile account back in 2005!

Text messages on this Tariff are charged at 5p each at all times so again it looks pretty competitive. I also just read the terms on the leaflet and I can sign up another 4 family members or friends. THis could cut down my mobile bills quite a lot over the months.

If you're going to be making calls to other mobile networks (quite likely if you're on a virtual network), then that's a pretty good rate.

If you're going to be calling 01, 02, 08 numbers or on-net mobiles, there are better rates available on PAYM (I won't complicate things by comparing staff tariffs here) but then it all comes down to usage etc.
