Had this a couple of years now. Price went from about £12.50 a month to £12.64 last year. So far so acceptable. Charge has now shot up to £16.51 a month. We've never claimed on it, never had them out to repair it, but suddenly a 30% increase?
On-line price offering it "from" £11.50 a month -presumably for new customers as opposed to suckers - sorry - existing customers.
Yes - I've tried asking them why, but have had no reply to my email (last Friday) other than the automated response.
Dunno why but vents on here seem to make complainees spring into action so maybe this might drag a response from the bloated overpriced behemoth.
Vent completed. Thank you.

Cancelled ours
Shot up to £20 and we didn't get a safety check either!
Our boiler is nearly 20 years old and they've said all parts aren't available so we're going to save the money towards a new one.
Btw, they offered to lower the price when I phoned. Surely they should offer the best price to begin with?0 -

Good final result on this. Had a phone call last night and they will reduce the fee to £13. Fair play. Saving of over £40 p.a.0

We had boiler cover with Vailant for a few years when all of a sudden they increased their pice from £11 to £18, I called them and they wouldnt budge on price so I rang around and got British Gas cover for £10.50. As soon as I rang up Vailant to cancel they offered me a discount rate of £10.50, sorry I said, you had your chance to keep me but blew it. Never ever renew anything without getting quotes elsewhere and don't think you have to stay loyal to any company because they really don't care.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

£150 a year upwards for what is usually a reliable thing. Surely its cheaper to put the money away in a BS account and repair as necessary.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Pays your money and takes your chance really. We had the free boiler and central heating check last week and they identified the problem with our water pressure and a dodgy radiator. Came out yesterday to repair it -took a good 3 hours which would have cost a few bob for parts and labour as a one off.0

1) Most companies include an annual inspection and safety test as part of the cover.
2) Do you have any figures to back up the price paid in heating cover vs the price paid in repairs, to make an objective decision?0 -
Nearest I can come up with is our boiler is 15 yrs old. Assume an average of £10/mth thats £1800. So far 2 vent fans and a water pump are the only things changed so about £100 per fan and £75 for water pump plus £100 for labour(not todays rates of course) so I'm quids in. Modern Worcester boilers have 5 year warranty so a new one would cost about £900 without being repaired.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Our Vailant is 7 yrs old now and for our £126 per year we get a service and safety check plus the peace of mind that anything else is coveredBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
