Ah yes, I understand that. My question was whether I needed one to redeem the product - I figured that this may be why I've not been able to redeem the Maltesers in three different stores now. Are you positive that you don't need an internet connection to do this?

I'm not sure Hashim. I know when they scan your barcode, you don't need to have the internet on, maybe you need the internet for when they actually process your product as being redeemed. Maybe to prevent fraud, it has to be processed there and then, and for that you will need internet access.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I think I may follow your original advice and just ring them for clarification. Seems like a whole lot of effort to put in for just £3, doesn't it? :D

Well, if you have internet and the app is working, it is a case of going in and redeeming and that's it. But I think they are hoping you will continue to use the app to redeem other offers and save money.
  • I tried to get the free Maltesers in the Co-op today. The manager had no idea about the app. I showed them the instructions and it didn't work. So frustrating.

Call Shop Scan Save, they will call the store and explain to them how to complete the offer and you will be able to go back and redeem it.

Wouldnt the app just update when you next are in a wifi spot after the shop scanning your ID?

I would assume so but cannot say for certain.

I know someone went and got their free maltesers and as they walked out of the store, it had updated to show they had redeemed the offer and they had qualified for their free kit kat.
