    Hi
I've just registered but can't see any offers under my offers? Should it show the initial £3 voucher or kitkat voucher or do you just assume those offers are there please? Also is it the 2 bar or 4 bar kitkat you get free in each new store? Confused.com

Have you got GPS on? Can you see which stores in your area accept Paypoint?

When you click on stores, should show you a map with green dots.

Then goto myoffers and you should see a list of your offers.

If you still can't. Reboot your phone by switching it off and back on again. If you still have the same problem you need to call them.

    Contact details in first post.

When you log into my offers, it has a list offers, and the maltesers large should show as save £3 and give offer details and when it expires.

I think there is a problem with the site, as my phone shows the same message, and I am using wifi.

I have never had this message. Maybe too many people are trying it now and their servers cannot cope. Try first tomorrow again, before ringing them.

Hi there, me again. Just wondering - for those people that have redeemed this offer, can you remember whether you had your internet connection on? Reason I ask is because, after trying three separate times at three different Co-Op stores here in Sheffield, none of them have been successful. I've tried with both the phone and the print-out barcode from the website. It seems to be a problem on my side with my phone, because 2/3 of the stores I went to said that they'd done loads of them before successfully, mine being an exception.

My contract recently ran out and I now haven't got an internet connection of any sort. I'm wondering whether, even though the site seems to say nothing about it, the app needs a working internet connection to work properly. It's pure speculation, obviously, but as far as I can see, it's the only reasonable explanation for why I haven't been able to redeem the offer at three different stores, and so many others have.

    Hi Hashim

Yes you will need an internet connection, as your phone, when you have redeemed an offer, updates to show you have visited the store. If you don't have internet, then it cannot update your visit to the store.

    Hey Aesop,

That makes sense, but I had no idea. I can't seem to remember it being mentioned on the website? Either way, thanks for that, I'll have to renew my contract and then try it again. Just to clarify, the offer ends on Tuesday at 12PM?

sorry Hashim, but if you are relying on wifi from home or free out and about, this isn't going to help you with the app.

The app is free to download, and yes you can do this over wifi at home, but it does say on the site:

The SHOP SCAN SAVE app is completely free.

There may be a data charge from the operator if the app is downloaded over the mobile network, if your mobile device is connected via WiFi there will normally be no data charge. There may be a data charge from your ISP provider if limits are exceeded. Ongoing data charges for using the app may apply depending on your data plan.

You must have cancelled your contract for a reason. There is no need to renew it to just to use this app.

You can get a pay as you go sim with internet access, for less than your contract probably was, especially if you are only going to use it for things like shop scan save.

yes the maltesers offers expires on Tuesday 12 March 2013.

Sorry, I don't really understand what you're saying. During the process of scanning the barcode and redeeming the product at the Co-Op store (for the Maltesers offer), is an internet connection needed? Or is it not? That was my initial question.

With regards to my contract, I didn't cancel it, it's simply just ran out. It wasn't a contract per se, it was a GiffGaff goody bag which lasted for exactly a month. But you're right, it probably would make much more sense to go on pay-as-you-go rather than a contract or GiffGaff goodybag, especially for minimal use.

You don't need the internet for the store to scan your barcode and redeem your product, but once you have redeemed it, the app needs an internet connection to update you have redeemed your product. The need for this is, it removes it from your phone, it marks your first visit to a Paypoint store and qualifies you for another free item. Each visit to a Paypoint store where you redeem a product is recorded via the internet therefore qualifying you for more rewards.

Ah yes, I understand that. My question was whether I needed one to redeem the product - I figured that this may be why I've not been able to redeem the Maltesers in three different stores now. Are you positive that you don't need an internet connection to do this?
