Washing machine liquid tops struggling to open.

Options
These washing machine tops that have the measuring cap as the top just kept twirling round and round for me, thought I was being a bit dense until I mentioned it at an Oap club I go to seems I'm not on my own. Do eventually manage to open them but never put the top back on properly just rest on on top of the bottle so I don't have to play the swizzle game for the umpteenth time. Maybe I will go back to the capsules much simpler.

I don't really understand the problem (as I don't use liquid).

    Are the caps 'childproof'?

Incidentally, liquid is much more expensive than powder and does not do a better job (although it may reduce the need to clean the input tray).

Also, for moneysavers, unless you are regularly doing car maintenance - or some other activity that gets a lot of oil or grease on your clothing - the amount of detergent they tell you to use is way over the top. I use less than half and my clothes always come out perfectly clean.

I'm not senior citizen (yet) but I also have trouble removing those push down and turn type bottle tops. And don't get me started on the 2 litre Coca-Cola bottles. You have to have a grip of steel to open one of those. I eventually worked out that it was easier if I wore a pair of rubber gloves while trying to open it.
And how is it they can put a man on the moon but they can't make a 2 litre pop bottle stand up on it's own?

Yes I can't help but feel people are mocking an OAP. I would imagine your grip goes when you get older and things like this become more difficult!

They don't screw on - you have to pull them off (stop laughing at the back...)

It's easier if have dry hands and not greasy e.g. hand cream
I think you are sitting on a gold mine. Every good invention started with a complaint or some kind of inconvenience.

Have noticed some bleach bottles have stopped doing the press in on both sides and turn tops to the small lift up bit, maybe they found not just child-prove but human prove.

I'm no OAP but i have the same problem. It's the liquid detergent bottles with the dispenser stuck on top of the bottle cap. Surf is the one i have problems with.

The dispenser is nigh on impossible to remove. I have had to take a knife to the most recent one. Once the dispenser is removed i leave it off.
