Talk talk- cancel or move?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me.
I recently took advantage of the Talk Talk £3.50 per month broadband deal, and to be honest it's pretty good, although as I'm sure many of you are aware the customer service is terrible. But now I find myself in a conundrum.
I'm moving and don't really need it anymore. The place I'm going to already has broadband. I have to cancel the landline here to free up the line for the next tenant
Talktalk's cancellation policy stipulates that you have to pay £9 per remaining month, and there's almost a year left. I'd prefer to keep the contract and just not use the service and pay £3.50 a month.
Or I could move and just never 'get round to' any installation?
Any ideas much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

If you keep the service the line would never be free'd up and the new tenant wouldn't be able to have phone or broadband unless they went to the huge expense of having a completely separate line installed.0

The new tenant would apply to have the line stopped on the basis that you'd left without cancelling it, and this would then be done after a short delay while TT attempt to contact you at that address. It usually adds about 10 days.No free lunch, and no free laptop

You say you recently took advantage of TT and now you are moving., I wonder if you could appeal to their retention's department and explain the circumstances why your time with them is so short-lived, you could even ask to speak to a supervisor.
Sadly I too recently went through a similar thing when I changed mobile provider and Vodafone imposed a cancellation fee up to Oct which amounted to £95 ish. Let us know how this develops. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Basically, either way you'll end up paying. It's not TT's fault you're moving.0
