thomas cook shop closures

Hi

Anyone currently got a holiday booked with thomas cook...

Are you worried about the branch closing, will it matter if they do?

I assume if the branch ur booked with does close then u can pay your balance in another store? Or is there a chance that TC is going bust altogether maybe and you would lose ur money?

So where will you pay the balance then if the branch u have booked with closes?

I don't intend to pay mine until the day it is due, tho its still 14wks between that, and the holiday so anything could happen between then.

Do you know your local branch will close ?
If they do will it happen very quickly .......no

They will certainly put into place a way to allow you to pay .

    No need to panic.

I live in a smallish town in ireland with 2 branches, literally one street apart, so I would guess one of the branches might close, but its only a guess.

I read an article about it earlier and it said it would likely be Co-operative travel shops that would be closing. I use my local one and my friend is the manageress there, she hasn't heard anything yet.:(
  • From memory, reading the news earlier they are closing some retail branches but the bulk (percentage wise) will remain open.

Whilst I'm sorry for those individuals that will loose their jobs, I really hope that this is enough to get Thomas Cook on an even keel/out of the news.

I don't work for Thomas Cook so have no 'agenda' in that respect but I have always found them to be a very good package holiday company, much better than Thomson or Olympic, for example.

A lot of the shops closing are where there are 2,3 or 4 of Thomas Cooks and Co ops on the same high street, so your business will just move to the nearest shop and you will then deal with them.
These shops are closing to strengthen Thomas Cook so no they won't be going bust. I think the shops that are closing were informed yesterday so please be sympathetic if you are ringing up to enquire about whats happening with your holiday.

Thanks, I will update when I hear what is happening, tho I don't intent to part with any ££ until mid may.

Stephb34, you think your business will just go to the nearest branch and you will just pay it off there? (Wallbash has said "no" this won't happen?)

If they are going to get rid of the co-op shops that makes sense. We have both in our town and its not big enough to have 2 shops.

I am not sure but you might be able to pay your balance online. Worth checking out.

Good luck to TC - hope this rationalisation works for them.

Now all we need is for the euro to pick up again *sigh*
