Under existing UK legislation, any person can use a bolt gun to destroy a greyhound, if they are the legal owner :mad:

These dogs should at the very least be entitled to a humane death. Destruction of greyhounds should only be performed by use of intravenous euthanasia, administered by qualified veterinary surgeons.

Please sign, these lovely dogs deserve better

we have kept greyhounds for over 40 years as pets and racing dogs and i must say i dont know anyone who would do this to these beautiful dogs, if a person really likes animals they wouldnt treat them badly they would treat them as part of their family and enjoy their company. greyhounds are the most loveable dog and are great companions. i hope this barbaric killing gets stopped soon.

Signed, and sorry susannicola you may not know anyone but they exist. I can point to someone near where I work who will kill and dispose of a greyhound for £10, also one of the greyhound rescue sites had one recently who had survived the captive bolt gun.
