Car Hire Lake Garda Italy

Hi

Could anyone recommend a good car hire firm for travelling from Verona Airport to Lake Garda and vicinity for May?

Also when would be the best time to book? the prices seem quite expensive when researching and when i entered a 'made up' date for a couple of weeks time the prices were about £50/£70 cheaper. Is that purely because of the time of year or is it indeed cheaper to wait until a couple of weeks before you travel?

And does anyone have a good indication of the type of car that would fit 3 Large suitcases in the boot? without paying extortionate prices for an estate/people carrier (we only need the boot space from the airport and back, seems a waste when all week we won't be carting luggage around!)

avoid doyouitaly.com, used them a few weeks ago, booked by a relative. Car paid for in advance was not available (7 seater people carrier, and we had to pay again 300 euros for each of 2 small economy cars! awful company, waiting for hear how much they will refund
