How to Save Money???

My home is all electric and during this harsh weather my bill went to £240 for the month when its only £70 in the summer, due to the electrif fire being on.

Is there a more enegy saving option out there, we dont heat the home as its just a flat we only need to heat one room the living room. Surely I can reduce my electric bill with a more cost friendly heating option.

Electric heating on Standard rate is the most expensive option of all-but you don't say what alternatives you have available in the property (mains gas, LPG, oil, solid fuel...)?
All types of electric heating are the same efficiency (100%), and cost exactly the same to run for the same rated output.

Insulation is the answer Simon. Pads or blankets in the window at dusk, double door curtains (ex charity shop) draught proofing , keep at it, never let up, imagine someone stealing your money.
And an electric blanket on the bed and one for the sofa. (Make sure they are RCD'd, )
And if you go for gas, you will nead ventilation in the wall.
