    I've used Google Navigation for years (how odd does it sound saying that?) and never found it to be slow, but I've never had a phone as bad as the Wildfire, so it will probably be a better experience on a newer phone.

    Get a nokia , the 800 is a bargin if you buy it outright, £130,
    then transfer your number to a micro sim,

    Nokia maps are excellent and expect to see more of them as Nokia cash in on them and licence the tech out.

    Tesco I think have a deal on, and o2, but do a search.

    The phone the OP has is ample enough though, plus there are plenty of mainstream apps for the wildfire over and above the Nokia 800.
    I tried the nokia maps on a lumia 610, but there didnt appear to be any voice prompts, just the mapping and directions (which means taking your eyes off the road ahead).
