Yes I did, and I was placed on it for a year after my tribunal for IB was put into motion, hence me reapplying now.

I just wondered as your original post suggested otherwise.

    hang on in there.

I didn't mean anything by it. Its just an absolute pain at times, i'm 29 and living off handouts from my father, not something I particularly enjoy! :)

Thank you all, I am going to the local CAB on Thursday to try and arrange an appointment and to see what my options are. If I do get accepted to EASA, then I have nothing to worry about, its just having nothing isn't pleasant. Much love to all, and sorry if I seemed sarky in my reply, paulfoel, just a bit stressed currently.

ChrisMM from the sound of it you were placed in WRAG (around £99 pw). Do you have a partner or spouse supporting you?

I was getting £70 a week on EASA, and I'm single, but due to circumstances and finances now live at my fathers, but he can't really support me as he hasn't the required income. On my reapplication I basically stated I have no one supporting me, no income and such, so hopefully it does come through.

I cannot work at this moment, it is something myself and my doctor are working towards. I am not physically capable due to my situation, but thank you for reading into something that wasn't there. By plausible, I did not mean currently, but down the line. I want to work, believe me, I don't want my life to be just a constant of unemployment/benefits.

Its okay, I'm seeing CAB and my GP with regards to it shortly. Thanks for the help all, feel free to close this :)

Yes, but when you're saying only plausible work you can do is desk work you're implying you can do this now?

I can only assume the benefits people think you can work then?

I worded it wrong, I meant as in when fit and cleared by the doc, desk work would be the only real thing I could do. I didn't mean as in right now, my bad.

Sorry Chris, I meant..for the first year were you receiving £99? Then it went down to £71 assessment rate? I'm sorry, I'm either drug addled tonight or .... I dunno, I'm confoozled. Surely with a change of circumstances after the 6 month rule, then you should be getting the assessment rate again?

Think I'll need to bow out and hopefully Roger or Muttley will have better advice for you.

The only advice I can really give is to look at the ESA descriptors and see which ones apply to you.

It is great to know that the government and the majority of society accept the bullying of the disabled to save a few quid. It just goes to show what they really think of disability!

OK. Fair enough. But are you saying that your local GP thinks you can't work but the medical report that the benefit people have obtained says you can? Sounds like the case...

Unfortunately, they won't just rely on one GP and will get expert advice from their own panel of assessors. Seems to make sense - if one person had their own GP on side then it might not be fair.
