O/S Daily Tuesday 05 March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Good morning everyone
No Halight? I hope he is sleeping like a baby!
I am dashing to get ready for work so will pop back later but have been up for over one hour and already have overnight washing on the line.
Chicken thighs are in the slow cooker for tonight's dinner and packed lunches of soup and rolls are ready to go.
I managed a few ebay listings last night but must resolve to do some every day or I will never get clutter free.
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

DH's alarm has just gone off so he is downstairs switching on lights, heating etc.
Going downstairs myself for a cuppa and drink of water to take daily meds and then having a browse on here in peace.
Tried a new way of making rolls yesterday- put dough in tiny oblong ceramic dishes and baked - they turned out like miniature loaves and dds were very impressed. Still have carrot and coriander soup left for DH to have for lunch (used coriander paste I got from AF) and taking dd to cinema this afternoon to take her mind off all the blood tests and injections.
No idea what to cook tonight but there are only three of us for a change so might use the remaining chicken and veg and make a curry or else use up pork for stir fry with peppers and mushrooms.
The chicken breasts I got from local butcher were so big that I cut off a little from each and they were still impressive when sliced part through, filled with cheese and herbs or mustard and wrapped in bacon.
Going for a cuppa so see you later and hug to all."This site is addictive!"

Morning all:j:j
I have had a betters nights sleep last night.
Not Good but better.
twin two woke up shouting for her Mum. @ about 2:00 ish
This woke me up. I could not get back off so I came down stairs. But did feel tired. So Instead of doing something I just put the radio on and lay back In my chair. Iv Got a leather reclining arm chair, That's very comfy I fell back off to sleep at some point and did not wake up until about 20mins ago.
So I was still awake In the night for a bit. But it was a better night because there was no pain:j:j No leg pain, no back pain, not head pain.
I do think I may have slept all night if twin two had not woken me up.
This morning my wrist is hurting and Iv not even done anything yet. I think I may have slept with it funny. (Just my Luck)
The swelling has done down well, So I'm hopeful that its going In the right way now.
I shall put some deep heat on it. In a few mins.
Today the Suns already out. Its a bit chilly but looks like we are in for another nice day here.
I have a few Jobs to do with my Dad today.
No meal plans as yet.
Well I hope that you all have a great day.
Enjoy yourself s:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Good morning all,
Very misty and a sharp frost here.
Just got back from walking Jasper. Been out since 6.20 with him. The cold has certainly woken me up.
Got to get packed lunches done and it looks like a bomb has gone off in the bathroom. Why my lot don't clear up after themselves i will never know. It takes a couple of minutes for them to scoop their things up.
Dinner tonight is spag bol.
halight, glad you had a better night.
elona, hope you and dd enjoy the cinema and that she is ok.
sistercas, hope your day goes quickly.
judi, hope you manage to get some sleep.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Good morning all, a bit misty but I'm hoping that the sun
:) will burn it off later today.Just reading 'A Girl called Jack's' blog and its really interesting, lots of tips on how to get by on less cash, sensible lady, rather than get into debt.
New carpet arrives this morning and I am looking forward to that as it will mean that all of upstairs rooms have been done and redecorated also hall and stairs all finished and then I can start to think about my sitting room.I am hoping that I can get it done before the end of this year ,fingers crossed.
School run this morning with the youngest grandson. he's a funny little guy, and does come out with the strangest of things. We both watch 'Put your money where your mouth is after school and basically its two people buying antiques(junk) and reselling to make a profit for their charity. Its quite an interesting programme as you get to see what sorts of things folk will pay daft cash for and he sits on my lap and we both play a game of guessing how much stuff will get sold for.Yesterday they had bought a china cat,its not my cup of tea as I am not one for china ornaments and I'm not mad keen on moggies anyway. This chap bought it for £12.00 and resold it to another guy for virtually double.I said to Mikey that I wouldn't have given it houseroom and he said
'Well Granny your not lonely are you'
rather suprised I said
'No son I'm not lonely at all why do you say that '
to which he said that the man who had a house full of cat memorabilia was lonely as 'cat' people are usually lonely and need a cat, or pictures and things about cats as a friend '
God knows where he got that idea from.I know quite a few ladies who dote on their moggies and thinking about it I suppose in a way he must have associated single folk with cats for some reason.Weird how childrens minds work at times.
Right enough waffling, time to get a shift on
have a good day
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Halight - good to hear you slept better, still think a trip to the GP sooner rather than later would be a good idea! Just read that back and I sound like my mother!!
Sunny, bright but frosty here this morning. Have put washing out on the line, and re-loaded and switched on. DW packed and set on timer to come on later.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Last night we had prawns in black bean sauce, HM veg rice, and mushroom chow mein, with side dishes of spring rolls, prawn toasts, etc, was the dinner I was going to cook for Saturday night but the prawns weren't defrosted in time. Won't bother with that particular chow mein sauce again, it was really tangy and not that nice, have used one before from MrA and it was lovely - so will use that again next time. Have several pieces of chicken left that I cooked as I'd not realised it was so close to the use by date and had not put it in the freezer - tonight we will be having said chicken pieces, jacket potatoes, salad etc, and I can shift tonight's planned dinner to another night.
Work yesterday was completely horrendous - we didn't stop all day until about half an hour before we closed - hoping today is a little less busy as felt like we were meeting ourselves coming back yesterday!
Keep safe and well x

jackieo I read that blog yesterday too. She gas some great recipes on there. It's so inspiring and I do love a bit of blog reading. The cat man was a bit unusual, he had a lot of Doctor Who memorabilia too.
I've put a bolognese in the slow cooker for dinner. I finish work late this afternoon and have a dental check up straight after. It's days like that I cave in a get a take away. So I'm feeling virtuous already. I've also got a free lunch at work today.
Going to meal plan tonight for the rest of the week. I have £25 and all my store cupboard so I should manage easily until Sunday.0
