Submitting claim against BA

I have recently made a claim for a cancelled flight
in May 2007. BA have acknowledged my claim but asked
for the Booking Reference. Not surprisingly I have no idea what
it was given that the cancelled flight is almost
6 years ago. I'm sure this is just a delaying tactic
by BA but how might I get this reference or how best
should I proceed?

I would appreciate any help/advice

Thanks Brianb
