Try
"Auto-riesin"
Always use these when in the Canaries, cheap. with no extras, fuel is return same as when collected, so no silly fuel charges, and as a bonus, also include free booster and child seats.
Not always brand new cars, it's pot luck to get a new/ish car.
Only once had an older Seat Ibiza. high milage, sounded a bit rough, but never let me down in 3 weeks of touring the island0 -
I second the recommendation of Auto Reisen. I used them in January there, they were very quick to issue the car, it was a decent standard, and there wasn't any faffing about with paying in advance for fuel. Great service.0

You're very brave being that close to the airport!
I'd recommend CiCar if you're hiring at the airport. Hardly ever queues, very fair fuel policies, low prices and a new fleet of cars. Very nice indeed.0 -
Try economycarhire.co.uk. Uk based, fully inclusive insurance.0

We used Orlando Car Rental (booked through Holiday Autos) in January. Car was a bit long in the tooth and carrying a few bumps but it was amazingly cheap. They have a bus which collects you at the airport and takes you to their office which is at Las Chafiras, 5 mins by car from Sandos.
By the way Sandos is nice. It's an a dip near the sea so you won't notice too much airport noise.
Walk up to Los Abrigos and eat Dorada at Restaurant Los Abrigos - it's excellent!0 -
Just returned from two weeks in Tenerife. We used Auto Reisen. They don't charge for excess cover. Just return the car with the same amount of fuel. We booked the smallest and cheapest car possible and got an upgrade to a four door. Excellent service.
The trick is to book several months in advance for the best prices. You pay when you pick up the car, rather than when you book; the only risk is the exchange rate moving. For us, two weeks rental cost £120 in total.:jWearing my other one today.0
