  • Go with the subjects she's good at/has an interest in, it shouldn't be a hinderance when she later goes to college or does A levels. Good grades open up more opportunities, ALIS scores don't care what the subjects are.

    My son was convinced he wanted to be a chef all through secondary school, he took food tech as one of his options and excelled at it. However, when he went for a taster day at the college he decided there and then it wasn't for him.
    He signed up for a BTEC in graphic design instead and they accepted him despite not taking art as a GCSE and not having a portfolio (although he is a talented artist anyway, they just didn't have any proof), they put him down for the highest level course purely on his projected results.
