Career Quiz websites?

My DD needs to pick her GCSE options this week and she has only a vague idea what she wants to do for a living.

Can anyone suggest any good websites that quiz on strengths/ weaknesses, likes/dislikes etc etc and then recommend possible career choices?

Thank you, it is a good site, but I can't see a quiz for help in choosing a particular career path.

Hi, We use this in our college

there is a section on try Jed for free.
  • Apart from the obvious (Googling the career quiz question) I'd say that going with the subjects you are best in now and have most interest in is likely to lead to the most successful outcome - leaving the career question until later. It seems to me to make most sense to go with your natural aptitudes, as it's difficult to imagine she'll be happy going against the grain either now or at college/university or in the workplace.

However I do realise not everyone is like this - there was a huge, glaring split between the subjects I was good at and those I was bad at! - my children were both pretty OK all rounders and obviously there are kids who struggle generally, and then it's more difficult to make the choice.

I would suggest traditional subjects if possible. Not doing drama won't mean you will struggle to become an actress, but it may make it harder to become a lawyer.

My daughter used https://www.fasttomato.com (and actually, so did I just out of curiosity!).

You have to register but it is pretty easy and you can enter a fake school if you want.

Good site for what you are looking for though.

GCSE option choosing is the time to keep as many options open rather than thinking about specific careers.

For future reference, there are lots of useful resources on the National Careers Service website.

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions - plenty to go through this week.

I will get DD to explore her options, and I think choosing the traditional subjects is the most logical thing to do.
