Good phone deal for teenager

T-Mobile "Text Appeal" - thats 3p per text to any network, calls a bit more expensive, but she has so few of them that its not an issue..
text appeal - £10 divided by 3p per text = 333ish texts but no calls
top up with o2 or orange by £10 they get 300 free texts so they get 300 texts AND the credit still to use, thats another 100 texts or with orange 15p per min 66ish mins.
u-fix is good but not exceptional value for money, just depends on how responsible you think shed be with it, if shes alright go for a cashback deal that would give her a lot more
plus having to chase up/remember her own cashback might teach her somethingYes Your Dukeiness0 -
When I first got a contract phone, back in 1999, there were no 'deals' at all, I simply rang my provider (vodafone at the time), and asked them to make my calls and texts inactive once my bill had reached a certain amount.
It worked really well, and could be used as an option for parents with teens that would like to take advantage of good contract deals.... it surprises me that so many people are unaware they can do this...Yes Your Dukeiness0 -
For my Daughter I got a £10 a month sim from Virgin, 300mins and 300 texts and set the limit to £50 a month (if the phone/sim gets stolen thats the max liability)..however you do need to be a Virgin Tv or telephone user to get it for £10.Join the Sarcasm Appreciation Society.

find it a bit pointless,
text appeal - £10 divided by 3p per text = 333ish texts but no calls
top up with o2 or orange by £10 they get 300 free texts so they get 300 texts AND the credit still to use, thats another 100 texts or with orange 15p per min 66ish mins.
Actually taking 100 texts per month as her current usage (and obviously that could go up), put £10 on with O2, get 300 texts, use 100 in the month, then they lapse (free ones only last 30 days). Next month you use 100, which costs you the £10 (or were O2 12 p per text?). So effectively 200 texts per £10...u-fix is good but not exceptional value for money, just depends on how responsible you think shed be with it, if shes alright go for a cashback deal that would give her a lot more
plus having to chase up/remember her own cashback might teach her something0
