Same here
If you was to poll the members on this site
"Free delivery via Yodel/Hermes orPremium delivery via DPD/UPS/Fedex"
Yodel/Hermes would win every time.
Have to admit, I've never had any problems with Hermes, either receiving or sending via MyHermes, yet Yodel/Collect+ oh boy are they been problematic.0 -
and the majority of people on this forum are forcing the retailers hand to give cheap/free delivery.
Care to back that uip with facts? There are many posts on these forums from people ceasing to do business with companies because they use Yodel. No matter how much postage a company charges, many will still use the cheapest option for delivery to maximise their profit.0 -

For smaller items, if you're prepared to pay an extra fiver ask them to send it Royal Mail Special Delivery. Will get there next working day and if it's broken you can claim on it.0 -
Can I elaborate on what I said earlier as I feel I might have been overly harsh?
The day that consumers have to pay whatever a retailer demands is the day our economy will die.
Yes, sites like this do drive prices down but isn't that the consumer's job? After all, nobody else guarantees their money. At the same time, the retailer is there to maximise profits for their share holders, that, in turn, is their job.
There are certain inevitable fees for any business, ie cashiers/checkout costs for a high street retailer or the costs involved in dispatching to a customer in a distance sale relationship.
Frankly, any mail order retailer that ignores the importance of delivering products to the consumer doesn't deserve to survive. It's an integral part of their operation.0 -

Sadly few companies give you details of the companies they use (unless you make a fuss), let alone a choice of how it's despatched.0
