We had a frisky male rabbit called Thomas. As he was a breeding male, he retained his bits but would mate everything. Produced some adorable angora babies, but eventually he mated straw, and self killed his leg with it wrapping around. Next morning we discovered it and took him straight to the vet. Sadly he had to lose the leg... Spent the day worrying that he'd be ok after it, eventually called to find out how he got on. Perfectly fine was the vets reply, we'll just keep him 24 hrs to make sure he's totally find.

Cue a phone call back an hour or two later demanding that we picked our damn Thomas up right away. Dashed over with no idea why we needed to get him, till we were told not only did he pee/hump (a lot, and often) on the heat lamp, when they took him out to clean the lamp, he would assault the poor vets legs and socks. Old school vet who was daftest guy ever, but he would never speak of Thomas again after that, and it was always "you've not brought that damn rabbit back have you?" Every time we went again. 3 legs and he was still as randy too!

You've done the right thing! Any non-breeding and older males were always done with us, females too.
Reminds me of moving day... Lots of female rabbits various ages, but 1 male all separately boxed sat in the old coal shed waiting to be collected. Moving company guy decides to give the rabbits some air. Needless to say some fun was had by that one male, and several litters popped up with some odd results! I miss having rabbits.
