Just thought I'd post an update on this whole situation ....

Since posting the original thread and after a lot of consideration I *apprehensively* signed the paperwork. On 23 April and assessment took place and I was given a date of 05 May for my loft to be insulated. This happened and didn't take very long.

I haven't heard anything since.

I am about to email them for an update, so I will share anything of relevance with you guys.

I would
not touch them with a barge pole I let markgroup start a survey on my house after they told me it was completely free absolutely no charge whatsoever to myself.
They told me that the company doing the installation (markgroup) would be reimbursed by the energy company under the ECO scheme. They never once told me that the energy company would then charge me for the privalidge, plus interest that would be put on my energy bill every month.
They also don't tell you the cost or what the interest rate is.
Don't touch them my advice is if you want to go down the route of green deal and ECO find a company that will give you facts and figures and interest rate charges

They are a genuine company BUT DON'T TOUCH THEM!!!!
We had insulation through them, shoddy workmanship, followed by damp caused by their failure to conduct a thorough survey. Then an absolute nightmare battling with them to get it taken out. Only after threatening them with legal action and press after recording their calls admitting it was due to their mistake, did they agree to remove the insulation. They took the stuff out left the house in terrible state now another battle to get that sorted. Even their own workers admitted it should never have been put in. Please learn by our misfortune and do not use them.

I've had several installations done by the Mark Group - cavity wall insulation in my Mum & MIL's bungalows. Super job, no problems. They also did the loft insulation in my present place - again an excellent job with no problems. So I think they are OK.
