What you say sounds right, even if it's different from what Sky told me.

It seems I paid £20 for something I didn't need, so I stick by the word 'rob'. ;)

'Obtained money by deception' might be a bit closer (robbery requires the use of or threat of immediate violence).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

But you needed it if you wanted the few additional channels that it gives you. You failed to do the research beforehand and check what was required.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Huh? I don't remember you being part of the discussion at the time so you're probably unfamiliar with the details.

But if you are, which 'additional channels' does the card offer? Unlikely I know, but they may one/s we watch.

That's the most recent I can find and indicates those channels are:

    Channel 5 HD
    5*
    5USA
    Viva
    Sony Entertainment Television
    Pick TV

No brainer then, nothing to watch on dirty Desmonds' channels. Save you money unless you want to regionalism your box.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

    You can add:

    Motors TV UK

    To that list.

If the Sky agent told that an !!!!!! viewing card is required to watch any Freesat from Sky channels at all, the yes, it was mis-sold. But your existing card (if you were formerly a Sky subscriber) would do the same thing anyway.
