I wasn't 'allowed' to present this evidence to the court - it was 'only allowed' to be presented to the SLCC, who refused to look at it because it was going to court.

Not sure how you think this is not a consumer or a legal issue ? !

So you took the solicitor to court and was not allowed to present any evidence?

If that was the case, what was the point of going to court???

Legal issue, because you are stopped from presenting your evidence.
Never ASSUME anything its makes a

This looks like an issue for your SMP.

Sorry to say that this consumer rights board is not going to be able to help you with changing the law.

Maybe consider asking your question on the Scottish Board.

I wonder why is there not a lot of noise being made about this injustice?

    Consumer issue also ....
I was stopped from presenting my evidence of the failure of my lawyer to meet the code of conduct and standards set out by The Law Society of Scotland because the it was said I had a 'contract' to pay a solicitor, and by instructing them to act for me I was entering into a contract to pay them. I therefore couldn't not pay them, even if I thought their work didn't meet The Law Society of Scotland standards put forward as the standard consumers should expect according to the Consumer Act, only the SLCC has the right in law to pass a 'judgement' on the standards.

Basically there was no point in going to court ....that is my point !!

Not many people try to fight against a lawyer in court..... :rotfl:

Google though and you will see a lot of evidence about injustices in the scottish legal profession.
I have been to my MSP, Alex Salmond, Kenny MacGaskill, Westminster and Scottish Government over the issues I have uncovered. I get passed from one to another and no one will give me a straight answer....
As someone else (in Parliament) pointed out to me - the legal profession has a huge number of MSP's and and helpers in Scottish Parliament.
I would love for it to be investigated ... Panorama, are you finished with the other issue that was kept hidden for years yet?
    Or Martin ?
Please check this one out !! ?

None of your questions are going to be answered on this board.

This thread should be on the Praise, Vent and Warnings board.

Did you pay the solicitor anything at all or did you withhold full payment?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • No, I paid the solicitor in full and then had to pay 'expenses' as well..
They were not interested in the fact the solicitor was representing me and the will writer at the same time - a 'conflict of interest'.
