Thanks Weeowens x
You're very welcome.
It seems such a nice way to bring real worth to our online thoughts for the loss of one our regular posters.
I know we must have lost others in the past but for whatever reasons they were not posted on here,or at least I may have missed them.
This online world we all enter can seem so false at times but hopefully we can all step back & remember that we are dealing with real people at the end of the ISP link.0 -

I think we have in the past, but TBH, Ed was the only one who I knew and interacted with. It's such a shame his sister disabled his FB page or else I'd send her a link to this thread to show how well thought of he was. Likewise, I think she would have appreciated knowing about the generous charitable contributions you've all made. I did think of sending a letter to his old address, but not sure it that would be appropriate.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

That would all depend on his old address, if it was rented or owned, who lived there etc. If there are still people there then I think its very appropriate to send a sympathy card and maybe put a little note in there, after all its what people do when someone passes on.
Also it would also depend if family knew about the comping and this community. If they did then why not? Its just a deepest sympathy card from people who knew of him even if not in RL. Judging by the messages on here and on FB he was obviously very well respected and thought of so IMHO letting the family know how much people care is a nice thing to do.
I think it would be a shame if they didn't know about the donations coming in from compers.
Of course I could be talking rubbish as I dont know the circumstances, but people do send sympathy cards after loved ones pass on.Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday

Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we have always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me, Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect without the trace of a shadow on it, Life means all that it ever meant. It was the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well.
A Beautiful poem. Thank you for posting. I read this at my Grandfather's funeral. He too was an Ed and gone too soon and also touched many people's lives.2013 Wins:~ Toastie Maker-Lipstick-Perfume-Acer Tablet :j Bafta Dvd Boxset-4 Board Games-Tetris Light-Joint Yr Membership Woodland Trust-Trek Baby Carrier & Baby Flannel-£100 Smyths Toy Store Voucher, Fruity Pots0 -
