Best Freeview+ HD Digital Recorder

I am thinking of leaving BT Vision as it hasn't worked properly anyway for a few months now and getting a Freeview TV and Freeview+ HD digital recorder.

I would like one where I can record one or two programmes on different channels at the same time whilst watching an alternate channel.

Can anyone suggest a good model to get?

If BT Vision isn't working properly, you might want to have your aerial checked before purchasing a different decoder.
Sorry, I can't help with any recommendations for a Freeview box.

Thanks. Do you know if you can get special digital aerials for freeview?

There is no such thing as a 'digital aerial'. A properly aligned external aerial of the correct type for your transmitter is all that is required.
The best Freeview PVR is a Humax, the model will depend on whether you want SD, HD, or YouView.

FYI there are no freeview boxes AFAIK with triple tuners,
That gum you like is coming back in style.

But the OP can use the tuner on the TV for the 'viewing only' channel.

On my old Humax (9200T) you could record 2 channels & watch a third so long as it was on the same multiplex as one of those being recorded. No pause & rewind but fine for watching a live broadcast.

I'd have thought the newer models could still do the same.

    I have the Panasonic:
DMR-HW120EBK 500GB HDD Recorder with Twin Freeview +HD Tuners

    I paid around £180.

    It's even cheaper these days.

If you want wifi connectivity the 220 model has it built in.

It works very well. The best box for the £££.

It may be a struggle to find a triple tuner box.

we have both free sat and free view boxes, the free view box seems to freeze quite a lot i nearly threw it out this afternoon, i could not get it past switch on, no channel display etc,on another site i was told to try to reset and i thought it may prove useful for anyone else non techy like us, it was to simply hold the on off switch down for 10 secs with any other channel button, hey presto now up and running again,i thank all those people on sites like this that help us non techs.

If you're with BT, BTVision is a bit old - ask them for a Youview box. This also happens to be the best FreeviewHD box.
