Nokia Lumia 920 - SIM Error
Options
I won a Nokia Lumia 920 in a competition at the beginning of January but have only just decided to start using it. However, I don't know what network it is locked to.
I tried scanning the barcode and it came up as 'unlocked' so I tried my Virgin sim and it didn't work. Then I tried my husband's T-mobile and that also didn't work. I tried my sister's O2 as well and that also didn't work.
I don't have an Orange or Vodafone SIM lying around so have to order some but obviously that'll take a couple of days.
Is there any way to find out what network it is locked to? There doesn't seem to be any branding (like when you switch it on, or any apps pre-installed etc). I saw on the net to check carrier on the settings menu but the corresponding numbers don't seem to match to anything. They are cv gb sw variant id 276 v03 if that means anything to anyone here.
TIA xx

It s probably not locked - and really hinges on the SIM type. SIM cards used to need 5v to operate, this dropped to 3v, and has dropped again - I have an unlocked iPhone 4 that my Orange SiM will not work with, but a new Orange PAYG SIM will. I would need to request a replacement contract SIM for the 5 year old SIM to make it work.
Try a new PAYG SIM and see what happens.0 -
You are in Brum, so just pop into a store and get a sim for it. Didn't the entry form state what network it was from?
Nice win by the way.0
