Forgot to ask, did you send letters signed for or get proof of posting?
If not, send a follow up via one of those methods including a copy of the original letter.:beer:0 -
Thanks for replying. I send everything of this nature 1st class recorded, so the sending will never be in doubt. No doubt they usually have plenty of complaints to sort out!! So i'll have to wait my turn!! I'll give it a month, before next move.0

I got an acknowledgement of my complaint saying they would resolve it my the 26th. Now the 30th and nothing in the post. Waiting to see what my Noddle report says then CCA request, leading to stopping of payments.
I'm not letting them get away with this. I can pay them back on fair terms but if they want to play bully then they lose.0 -

How long did it take for them to acknowledge?0 -
I think about 2 weeks for them to tell me that it would be sorted by the 26th of March. I got a letter over Easter saying sorry they haven't solved my issue and are still looking into it.
I'll give them another couple weeks and then write to them again demanding a resolution by the end of April or I got to ICO / FOS full complaint as well as CCA on the account.0 -
Update on this. To my amazement a letter arrived the other day from Barc. An apology. They accept that their lack of default on my file would have a negative impact and agreed that they should have added a default as of September 2010..
The key is that they formally closed the account in September 2010 and passed it to collections. They say they should have defaulted my file then and will now mark my file as defaulted in September 2010 which is fantastic news for me as it means all accounts are now due to fall off the file in late 2016. At last I have a date to look forward to and can get on with clearing the debts.
Hats off to Barclaycard in this case. Despite taking 2 months to respond to my letter, they have sorted it to my satisfaction. There was even a little compensation in there as well which caused me to have to sit down for quite a while staring at it!
Better still if the account is in default it gives Cabot one less stick to beat me with. In fact it puts them seriously on the back foot as this is a very old CC account which they must know they can't enforce if push comes to shove.
I'm not sure how I've managed this but if it helps anyone, the letter I wrote was firm but polite and was a request, not a demand. I thought it was better to go in softly initially and not all guns blazing. Seems to have worked.
I await my next credit report with baited breath but at least I have it in writing now!0 -
Well done Stewart. I'm going through the same with CL Finance. Paid in full 3 years ago but AP marker will stay on until early 2016.
Also Barclays have entered incorrect default information on my file so I'm trying to get that sorted out too.
It's good to hear about people's successes, gives hope to the rest of us.0 -
