No. JavaScript is built-in to the browser. It can be DISABLED though - the method to do so depends on your browser.
In Chrome it is Settings | Show Advanced Settings | Content Settings button | JavaScript section | Do not allow any site to run JavaScript
But can you clarify; it can install viruses; and if you don't use it, you don't need it. Apart from generic bubble games etc? Or flash videos, that people don't want/need due to them being adverts.0 -
Yes, vulnerabilities in Java can be exploited to install malware without any user interaction other than visiting a compromised website that hosts malicious code.0
