Wifi lost password

Options
Hi
I am at my father in laws and he has forgotten his password. I've got it saved to my phone but can't reveal the password. Likewise we can't see it on his pc. Short of calling AOL to reset it, is there anyway we can reveal I hide the password characters? Father in law has Alzheimer's.

    Xmas Saver!
I am assuming unlike TalkTalk it is not on the back of the modem, or on the box it came in. (If you still have it).

Sorry I can be of no more help. Good Luck.

    No - tried that.

I just read a post which says log into router then read password.

Assuming this is an option - how do u log into router?
    Thank you

Which password do you need, the one to connect the computer to wifi or the one to log into the router?

Which version of Windows is being used?
How do I add a signature?

AOL don't know your wi-fi password! Have you looked on the back or base of the router as suggested (if the default is beng used)?
If you tell us the make and model of the router then we can tell you how to log into the interface, unless the defaults have been changed.
If they have, you'll need to do a Factory Reset on it and start again from scratch with the set up (internet username and password required for that).
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Not necessarily. If the OP is running Windows 7, it's simple to find out what the wifi details (inc password) are. This may also be possible in other versions too.

    Hi

    It's windows version 6.0

The password for the wifi is not the same as on the back of the router. The password is needed so that anyone that comes to visit can log onto the wifi for internet connection.

Is there an easy way of revealing the number - I am on fatherinlaws pc at the moment.

There was no Windows Version 6.

Press and hold the Windows key then press the Pause/Break key. What does it say in the section under Windows Edition?

Is F-I-L's computer connected by wifi or ethernet cable?
