Worst money off coupons.

Today in the post, I had some money off coupons from Tesco. I will use the first one, but not the rest. I have 1x£3 off £25 and 5 weeks of £2 off £25. Plus I have £3 a clubcard voucher - so £6 off £25 does not seem bad.
The thing in October, I had £3 off £20 then 5 weeks £2 off £20.
With Sainsburys, I get either £4 off £20 or £6 off £30 as its the same % saving.
Why keep the savings the same, but my minimum spend increase?
Anyone here had worse examples?
I know the Sainsburys vouchers are done on average spend per week. So you may get vouchers for £80 of shopping when you do a £65 main shop and £15 top up later in the week.

By far Sainsburys offer the worst discount vouchers. I rarely spend as much as £20 when I visit as I shop all over the place to get decent prices and shop per day or every other day to get end-of-date foods which I rely on.
I have lost count of the sheer volume of vouchers asking me to spend £40 or more for (...wait for it).... 160 points off.
So, for a break-my-back carrying it home (not to mention not saving much money) £40 spend, I can expect the equivalent of 80p back. And what's more annoying is that I get this same voucher over and over and over again, I seem to get about one a month and have been getting them for the past year at least. I've even complained to Sainsburys as a result as everyone else seems to get vouchers they can actually use but it makes no difference, I still get the same voucher on repeat every month.
Erm, no, I don't think so. I think I'll continue with my £5-£10 spend when I do shop. Sainsburys you have a long way to go before you realise how the real world works!0 -
I've just had a pile of £3 off a £35 shop through the post from Tesco.
Needless to say I won't be using them as I get a £2 off a £20 shop every week from Sainsbury's.
I'd struggle to spend £35 in one go anyway. Although at the prices Tesco charge:think:0 -
If you think those coupons are bad try the Coop sometime. I rarely spend more than £10-£20 in there but I can guarantee that I get £2 off £20 to be used inside a week or recently because I spent a lot of money on Gas key card in November it has now started with £4 off £40 shops now!0

personally I would rather they took the prices off the stuff they stock. As a person who lives alone its rare that I would spend over £20.00 in one go anyway as I only buy what I need at the time and watch the prices like a hawk.I can understand that the big SM want to help families
:):) (my DD has 4 lads still at home) but there is also many single folk who miss out on saving cash because we are not big spenders on a weekly basis I no long shop weekly anyhow, so money off coupons are useless to me. What really irritates me is tesco's sending me money off coupons for stuff I have no interest in buying such as nappies My childrearing days finishing with nappies in 1971 for goodness sake, and then I had cloth ones
:)
I understood that the coupons were related to what you bought, and I have never bought throw away nappies in my life.I had one a few weeks ago offering me money of unsalted Anchor butter ,which would be nice apart from the fact that my local Tescos don't, and never have, sold the stuff. The CS said well you could always go to the big store around a mile away if you wanted to buy it I don't want to waste my life wandering around the huge store just to save 20p on a pack of butter apart from the fact that I would probably spend that amount in diesel getting there as I can't walk that far. Most of my till spits or coupons end up in the bin as I have no use for them whatssoever, do the big stores not realise there is a potential market that they are ignoring apart from the 'grey one' that I belong to not everyone has a family and there are lots of single folk out there as well as families0 -
I agree about Sainsburys being the worst. And all i get from Mr T are coupons for 25points off £1 spend on fruit, 25points off £1 spent on dairy etc. I very rarely get anything worth having. The £2 off £20 spends etc are very rare for me to get. If i do i buy non food items etc. The till spits are even worse, its very rare i use them as the product there offering the money off of have normally been increased in price. I dont shop weekly i shop daily as theres only me atm. I also dont shop in one shop, i got to all of them to pick to best bargains.0

Sainsbury's coupons are generally designed to push your spend up. So if you usually spend £30 on average, then you can pretty much guarantee that you'll get a coupon offering you x amount off £40 for x number of weeks. The idea is that you get so used to putting £40-worth of stuff in your trolley that you'll stay at that level once you stop using the coupons.0

I remember going to Sainsburys a few months ago and the customer in front of me spent £28.54 and rushed and picked up two bits making it to £30 and she had a 120 point for spending £30 coupon. I didn't have the heart to tell the customer she was doing this for just 60p. If its £3 or £4.50 off of 600 points (£3) - a different matter.0

I spend a huge amount of money at s****burys as it is the only place I shop! I only ever receive points for a certain amount spend. I never ever get money off a £40 or £20 pound sepnd. Why would this be?0
