Hedgetrimmer...Cut through cable

As the title says....Was cutting my hedge yesterday and right at the very last bit I cut right through the power cable - Fortunatly I had a circuit protector on it to stop me blowing myself up, however the cable is fixed to the hedge trimmer.
Does anybody know where the cable can be replaced?
It is a black and decker hedgetrimmer.

How far along the cable is it?
Cheapest option would be to fit a 3 pin plug on whats left of the cable & use an extension lead, however if the cut is only 1m from the trimmer it would be awkward to use
Slightly more expensive, but less gash looking, would be to use a line connector to join the 2 halves of cable.

The connector mentioned above only has two pins, this means that you wont be able to connect the Earth Core of the cable back together with this connector.
This connector is a bit more expensive but might be a better, more permanent solution.

Also, I'm sure I'm stating the obvious here, but i thought it was worth saying if you do go for the two pin connector option be sure that when you connect it up, put the male part of the connector on the hedge trimmer appliance end of the cable and the female part on the supply side of the cable, just means theres no chance of a connector with live pins becoming exposed!0

Or another thing you could do is fit a new cable, 3-core usually costs about £1 a metre0

Its most likely 'double insulated' so has no earth so the 2 pin connector will be fine.
To confirm this, look on the label, should be a picture of a square, then a slightly smaller square inside the first.
Or just open the back of the plug and see if theres an earth cable.0 -
We have done this several times.
If, as is usual, you've cut it right near the trimmer end, the best thing to do is to dismantle the hedge trimmer and re-wire the cable at that end. This is far tidier than using connectors and really less effort - if you put in a connector, you need to wire two plugs/sockets.
If you follow my advice all you lose is a foot or so of cable, and it all is safe and tidy with no break in the original cable.
Advice to anyone else reading this - please make sure you always use an RCD with your hedge trimmer, in case this sort of incident recurs!0 -
Get a connector block, some good duck tape and get back on your ladder. With your circuit protector you'll be back as normal.0

Reading above replies. You cannot cut your own cable at the trimmer end !!!! The shortest possible length of cable should be as long as the edge trimmer itself.....0
