Let's just agree to disagree - we are both right and we are both wrong. Either approach is valid.

The problem is that the mods don't deal with removals using the 'spam' button. It's automatic. Otherwise they could have removed your post once it had done its work.

You're right, though, it wouldn't be too clever to quote the spam post as that would leave part of the spammer's message still visible.

I was going to say that but I wasn't sure. (It being automatic leaves things potentially open to abuse, where a group of people could censor the posts of another person by marking them as spam).
