Pre teen girls, shape and clothing

As the mother of boys I was after some help. My niece will be 12 this month and asked for some clothing (jeans).

The problem is her shape as she is still childish in shape as in no hips yet tall. I have looked in shops like next but she is too tall for them. Are there shops that do tall children's clothes but for smaller frames?

Topshop will have what you're looking for, they do from size 4 and there clothes tend to fit straight up and down shapes :)

Oh I never thought of adult shops. Size 4 could be a bit large, but with a belt, it could be okay, and they will take returns anyway if not. She got a pair of jeans from Hollister for Xmas in a 00 and they were way too big, but a 4 sounds ok I think.

Thank you will go at the weekend :)

There stuff tends to be small made, if you keep the receipt they most definitely do returns, they do all different leg lengths too.

Edit: the more I think about it, I think there jeans are in waist sizes, so I don't know if they'l fit? Smallest waist they do is 25 I think..

The smallest waist topshop do is 24 but it's still fairly big. In general topshop clothes don't go that small I've never found anything too small in there but if she doesn't mind wearing things a bit baggy if they are that 'style' then they do some nice stuff

I have quite a curvy shape, child bearing hips I like to think and need to go up a size in TS. I just can't fit my hips into there jeans. Most other shops fit me fine. Maybe I'm just a weird shape :o

I am definitely going to look, feel a girly shopping day on the cards which should be fun. I had never considered adult shops so a great alternative.

    Hi There,
Have a look in New Look, they do a petite range and a tall range as well as the 'normal' ranges, i know they cater for as young as 8 upwards, maybe they'll be something in there?
Forever 21 do alot of young girls clothes too

    Enjoy your shopping trip

my DD is 11, she still needs older girls sizes in jeans etc (adult sizes are too big for her) but regularly goes shopping for size 6 adult tops, jackets etc.

New Look has a section in the store for 915 (ie age 9 - 15). I'd take your niece shopping, and try New Look :). The 915generation clothes are scaled-down versions of the adult range.
