Being in Scotland, Metro Bank is out, we don't want the hassle of crediting x per month to qualify for N&P or others.
We used to use Nationwide debit card, but now Clarity CC is better for us.
Only relating our experience and giving our opinion.
Not a problem. I was not disagreeing with you. Just giving info and opinions myself, as well as making corrections to wildly inaccurate posts(not yours).
You don't have to credit the N&P Gold Light account, but you do have to set up a few transactions to keep it going.0 -
Must be great on holiday with nifty digits. So exciting that you're permanently on an fairly dull Internet forum, party?
It was 3am here. Didn't fancy going out then. Laptop is set up as an entertainment centre, so it's always on.
My holiday is for four months, so I don't always need to be out.0 -

1) if your card gets cloned etc. they have access to your actual cash, which they don't with a credit card - I certainly don't like the idea of using my debit card in the ATMs of some of the countries I've visited;
2) Section 75 protection on purchases (ok, it's unlikely to be required or applicable, but it's there);
3) interest free purchases until statement due date (again, a small benefit, but a benefit nonetheless).
1/. Did have that problem in Brazil this year. Luckily I had back up options. Would have taken most people's Clarity credit to the limit and then they would have been stuck.
2/. Didn't you read that I have many fee free credit cards and that I recommended everyone to have at least one.
3/. See point 2.

Ah, that would explain your rattyness. Heat has that effect on me too.
Let's not get carried away. You're forgetting the OP doesn't like banks. It might put him in a bad mood, you know, like the heat does with you?
Well she's certainly relaxed you, you seem much calmer than before. Only one "nonsense", that's good progress in such short time. Can you give me her number? How much does she charge? And more importantly, what's the best way to pay :rotfl:Can't wait!
Was chatting with my mum. I'll let the rest of your moronic comments go.0 -

I never claimed that all networks on all plans provide free data. What I suggested is that it is slowly but surely popping up in the market. You yourself have confirmed that Vodafone offer free eurozone usage on at least one tariff at this present moment.
I never suggested that 12.9% is the only APR available on the Clarity card, I know it isn't but AT 12.9% APR it IS cheaper. Even at the maximum 21.9% it can be cheaper if paid off in due time.
The only time Saga is indisputably cheaper is if the spender is adamant about waiting until the very last possible day to clear their Clarity card and they have a higher-than-typical APR.
I don't understand your attitude - and it seems many other members are bewildered by your attitude as well.
Perhaps you should go have some Vienetta and come back next week once Aunt Flo has left?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

No I did not. I confirmed that the tariffs that did are now defunct. No longer available does not equate to "more and more".
That flies in the face or your more and more operators comments.
Your infantile Google link does nothing to shine any more light on your ridiculous assertion.
Why would I continue to debate with someone who cannot even concede when they are blatantly wrong? Is your name Anthony Blair?
As to the rest of your post...I didn't even bother to read it.0 -

The point is there are more and more flexible options for using data abroad than ever before, WiFi, cheap bundles, etc etc.
It does seem that the free data options that the market had on offer last summer are less forthcoming now which is a pity, but that doesn't negate my assertion that using data when outside the UK isn't the catastrophic absolute no no that it once was.
I don't see why you need to be so arsey and selective when liaising with me, I've made a valid observation about the market and a good point based on past experiences. Granted the specific tariff I was on only nine months ago appears not to be on offer any more but that doesn't invalidate the general point I was trying to make about the mobile market.
There are ways of using data abroad free of charge (wifi) and cheaply (vodafone passport being just one of many examples), which is what's important here.
And let's not forget that many people will already be on tariffs that aren't offered to new customers any more; myself included. Historical tariff offerings aren't as irrelevant as you suggest.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

No, this does;Do not argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
You assertion was that more and more operators offer FREE data access abroad.
Be a man, not a worm. Admit you were wrong and show some integrity.0 -

If you wouldn't mind re-reading my last post, I was still editing it when you replied.

To sign off, as there is nothing of interest being discussed here anymore....
You just argued for nothing.
I have not at any point argued that the SAGA was better than the Clarity.
I simply gave the information and presented simple figures to illustrate both sides of the argument.
As to your free data assertion, you couldn't expect such a blatant error to go uncorrected, now could you?
I could stay here and wait for an apology for your wasting my time arguing for nothing.
But that is not why I am here. I'm here to help, using my very ample free time. Thanks are just a bonus.0
