I had a bowl of mince before going to bed to try and tied me over... It seemed to help ...
To be fair though, a bowl of mince does help most things.

See I thought everyone lay in their bed at night and spent their whole night thinking about the things I love and hate as well0

have been having a wee think for a while now, what happens after the 100 month challange? where do we go from here? what i am doing this challenge for? you know the kinda thoughts that ramble through your head when you have the time.
Now as things currently stand we are using the overpayments from our mortgage as an emergency buffer, but as the mortgage dissappears this buffer goes with it, so we need to ensure we have a buffer for future purposes, yes we do have £2.5k in the n@tionwide and we do have roughly £500 in an I.S.A the £2.5k is giving us 5% so £8 a month the £500 is giving us 2.5% the truth of this is though that we actually have a further £1.7 k on top of the £500 ( the £1.7k is for our holiday) once i pay the holiday our interest rate will drop to 0.5% until we get to £1k when it will go back up to 2.5%
We also have a S&S ISA which is divided into three units, in each unit when we reach £1k we start to earn a loyalty bonus, we are a good bit away from the £1k so this is going to take time to build.
Now all of the above indicates to me that we need to get things working better for us, i need firstly to boost the cash I.S.A up to £1k asap so that i can get the 2.5% interest and i need to boost the three units up to £1k so that we start to get the bonus for that as well.
The cash ISA is aimed at our emergency /holiday fund and the S&S ISA is aimed at long term savings.
ok with all this in mind ( if your managing to stay with me and i havnt lost you to boredom yet) i am going to be halfing the money that i am currently utilising ( Tilly tidies, @mazon etc) half to continue with the mortgage overpayment and half to the cash ISA, once i have got the cash ISA up to the £1k i will be saving it and transferring it once a month to the S&S ISA till i reach the £1k mark on the three units there as well, i also intend on starting a Vanguard 80% acc fund which i will be concentrating on for the next few years.
Getting out of debt is important to us, but it cant be the sole focus of money, we have to ensure that once we are debt free we dont become more into debt to buy a car etc, i am hoping this will help combat this.
if i get to £3.5k in a cash ISA i will be happy, but i want to slowly increase it so that we have a good mixture of emergency/every day savings and long term savings as well.
we know that once we are debt free our next goal is to work at early retirement, hence the reason things like solar panels etc will be of interest to us, we will need to start that with saving 5 years wages for me as i am 5 years younger than mr el and we intend on retiring at the same time, we then plan on working it so that both of us can retire early and also have some extra money when we do retire... so whilst this 100 month challenge is a good thing to do i am learning it wont just end there0
