Transferring Santander direct Isa for better rate before April

Santander have had "exclusive" rates for 123 customers for some time. That doesn't make them good rates though.

She was basically saying not to move my money as come April I may get more than 2% on my ISA if I open a 123 account. so will have to wait and see if those rates do go up.0 -
wait until next week before moving a santander isa0

I will hang on to the last day to move mine.Just to say 'innotive',I should be under the tax threshold for the rest of my working life ,as I can afford to work part time, and if the gov,put the tax threshold to £10000[which I reckon they will by the election, then my wifes pension payments will be under tax threshold too].She was in the envious situation of being the last age group to retire at 60 with state pension0

I received my interest today, was paid straight into my isa. So now I will just wait to see if there are any better rates in the next couple of weeks before transferring it.0

I have opened a Cheshire ISA Saver (to transfer in a Northern Rock/Virgin Stepped Rate ISA). Other than the email and text I have no paperwork from Cheshire nearly three weeks on! I have the account number as I was told it on the phone last week when I chased it. I don't understand why it takes 2 weeks + to get paperwork out when the account is open.0 -

A few days ago I had one regarding my E saver 5, interest for which goes on 26 May. Makes me wonder if the the letter was for the wrong account! Be interesting to see if Santander to offer anything worth staying for.

I applied online for a cheshire isa to transfer in my mum's money from first direct on 31 january. A couple of weeks ago we called them as we hadn't heard anything and they said that it would be actioned within a couple of days. That was almost 3 weeks ago and 5 weeks since I first applied and still nothing has been transferred even though they emailed me that the account was open. The money is still in First Direct. I know that its a really good rate with Cheshire, but I am begining to wonder whether I should proceed with it incase they are this slow to organise a withdrawel when the money is needed.0 -

Yes I wondered about the latter aspect too. I had planned on transferring two more ISAs to them in addition to the Virgin/Northern Rock transfer-in being requested on applying to open). They know (from my phone calls) that I'm transferring that in. If this gets delayed, my not inconsiderable amount in Virgin earns 0.75% (I think) after a year at 4.5%.
If Santander have a decent(ish) rate after the Direct ISA bonus goes on 24 March I may stick with that. I also have M&S fixed term that ends 2 April.0 -

I've just had another phone conversation with Cheshire BS. I'm told that no welcome pack will be sent until they have received funds from the transfer-in and applied them to the account. The person went off the phone to find when Virgin Money were applied to for ISA funds (as there was no way to tell Cheshire that 15 March 2013 was the end of Virgin fixed term, but I told them on phone today). The date the came back with was 18 Feb. Funny that - the same date of their email that said application had been processed. Also, because a fixed term account is coming in, Cheshire won't apply their interest until they get funds in. That doesn't seem right. Not sure I can do anything about that0 -
I spoke to the Cheshire again yesterday and they supposedly checked and said that they had sent all the details to first direct but not had anything back so it is first direct who are delaying things.
They told me to call first direct who told me that they have not had anything from Cheshire but would double check and call me back.
An hour or so later, first direct called me to say that they had then received a fax from cheshire and would send the money over in the next couple of days.
Obviously one of them is lying, but as to who, I have no idea.0 -
I applied for the Cheshire Building society Isa last Friday. To my amazement the funds have been transfered from my Santander direct Isa to the Cheshire today.full interest has been paid and The Cheshre Have emailed me that the transfer is complete and documents will be posted within the next five days. What fantastic service.0
