What's the best sub £100 andriod?

Hi all,

Has anyone got any advice on the best android phone (sim free or on o2) for less than £100 currently?

Need a new phone asap, and would prefer to buy in store, rather than online.

Any advice appreciated!

cheers,

fc

Huawei Ascend G300 at around £75 via Very/Isme with a voucher code. Then a fiver to unlock it from Vodafone.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

If you need it today, it will cost you £120 at Argos/Vodafone or £80 'nearly new' at Vodafone (not sure that shops have 'nearly new').

It's better to get a spare phone for £5+£10 at CPW (PAYG upgrades can be done without £10 topup) and then a new G300 for £80 in a few days.
  • Agree with Grumbler, definitely get a cheapy stop gap/back up phone today and then order the G300 from Very/Isme for approx £75 with a bit of hoop jumping (they normally deliver next day anyway). It is easily the best value Android phone under £100.

Nice to see we agree on something then Millicent...

  • thanks for the input - I've actually found an old phone, which although locked to virgon, has a few quid left on the credit, so I can use that for any emergencies, which buys me a bit of time...

I'm trying to do the isme thing now, I never take credit out, but apparently I can only get the £30 off if I apply for their credit deal. I've just done so and now the website says

"3GECD - £30 VOUCHER- Applied. £30.00be applied to your credit account or refunded to your card, once your order has been processed"

then I click to pay and it gives me the option to 'buy now pay later" - with interest rates, or to pay in full using my card...

If I pay in full will they definitely refund my £30, rather than give it me in credit?
  • Well, I appear to have bought it - I had to go through the ordering process several times to get it to remember the correct delivery address... but then it said I had completed my order, and never asked me for payment...

Hoping it goes through ok, and that I can just pay the balance off without accruing any interest or charges!

If the code has validated yes, pay in full now and the £30 will be credited back to your account as a credit.

BUT.....you did go to Isme via a cashback site didn't you? Topcashback currently pays 7% back!!!

Sorry didn't get to your post in time, shame £7 lost. Even at £100 and more the G300 is really great phone, its the one I use daily a lot so you will enjoy it no matter.
