Look for https on the url. Never follow links from other sites or emails.

What is the company and website address ?

If you are buying, why are you putting in your bank account details ?, credit or debit cards better.

    Google for Reviews/complaints

    Do a whois lookup

    on the site
look for address, landline phone numbers, company registration number, vat number.

Look up the Company reg number at companies house website, you can also check the validity of the Vat number, google for that.

If address is shown, look for it on Google earth.

The above will give you a head start.
